Once again, we are gathered here today to keep practicing/playing with our web 2.0 tools...which I totally embrace and would like to see clients and staff alike learning and embracing.I have been using facebook for a couple of years now. What I really enjoy of this application is the camaraderie, the sense of easiness and even of group belonging.
In our library environment I'd like to see social networking as a tool to attract all generations, young and not so young. We probably could use them as ...
- Marketing tools, for advertising future programs and events
- Introducing them to book clubs, for fun and open discussions even when they can't make it to the library venue.
- For clients feedback, which will give us the opportunity to improve our services and being seeing as open-minded institutions.
- Opening another channel of communication with existing and future clients
